FAA Issues VIP Movement Notice for Palm Beach, With Temporary Flight Restrictions Oct. 16–18 Ahead of Possible Trump Visit

Why It MattersRecurring presidential-visit restrictions around Palm Beach repeatedly constrain general and business aviation access to one of Florida's busiest private-jet destinations, adding scheduling uncertainty for operators and charter customers.

The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a VIP movement notification for the town of Palm Beach, Florida, suggesting President Donald Trump may be returning to Palm Beach County for the first time in months. According to an FAA Safety Team notice, the notification was issued on Monday, Oct. 12. Temporary flight restrictions are scheduled to be in effect from Friday, Oct. 16 through Sunday, Oct. 18.

During Trump's second term, the FAA has issued such restrictions for Palm Beach whenever the president has spent time at his Mar-a-Lago resort. Previous restrictions prevented most aircraft from flying within 30 nautical miles of Palm Beach. The FAA has also proposed a permanent flight rules area around Mar-a-Lago, and NORAD has said more than 60 aircraft have been intercepted over Mar-a-Lago since last year. Trump's last stay in Palm Beach was this spring.
