StandardAero Signs Supplier Service Agreement With GMR Aero Technic to Deliver On-Wing Engine Support in India

StandardAero (NYSE: SARO) has signed a Supplier Service Agreement with GMR Aero Technic, India's largest third-party MRO service provider, to deliver on-wing engine support services to operators in India, initially focused on the CFM International CFM56-7B, LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B narrowbody platforms.
India operators have approximately 1,000 LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines in service, powering the Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX families, with a further 3,200 on order, while more than 100 CFM56-7B engines powering the Boeing 737NG family remain in service in the country.
Rebecca Lane, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at StandardAero, said the agreement builds on the company's existing MRO capabilities for Indian operators and follows a similar agreement with GMF AeroAsia in Indonesia less than a year earlier. Ashok Gopinath, President and Accountable Manager at GMR Aero Technic, said the partnership aims to build a responsive on-wing support network for the APAC region, combining StandardAero's global engine aftermarket expertise with GMR Aero Technic's infrastructure and regional presence.
StandardAero supports the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B from its 810,000-square-foot facility in San Antonio, has offered LEAP quick-turn shop visit services since March 2024, and completed correlation of its first LEAP test cell in November 2024. GMR Aero Technic, a division of GMR Air Cargo and Aerospace Engineering Ltd, provides line maintenance at 12 airports in India and one in Nepal, serving more than 60 customers and airlines, and holds approvals from more than 30 global regulators. The announcement was made during MRO Asia-Pacific 2026, held September 22–24 at the Singapore EXPO in Tampines, Singapore.
