Heartwood Partners Invests in The Xtreme Group to Scale Aviation MRO Platform
Why It MattersThe deal signals continued private-equity consolidation interest in the cargo and commercial aircraft MRO segment, with acquisitions expected alongside organic expansion.
Private equity firm Heartwood Partners completed an investment in The Xtreme Group (TXG) on May 29, 2026, partnering with the Miami-based aviation MRO company's existing management team, which will continue to lead the business.

Founded in 2013 by CEO Carlos Cock, The Xtreme Group has built a full-service aviation MRO platform focused primarily on cargo and commercial aircraft operators, spanning heavy airframe maintenance, engine MRO, line maintenance, aircraft-on-ground services, and aircraft and engine sales and leasing, with line maintenance stations at major airports across the United States. TXG operates through three subsidiaries: Xtreme Aviation LLC, an FAA Part 145 certificated MRO provider offering airframe maintenance, repair, modification and line maintenance; Ignite Aero Engines, specializing in MRO and overhaul of CFM56 and CFM34 turbine engines; and Aventus Air Leasing II, focused on acquiring, refurbishing, selling and leasing aircraft and engines.
Heartwood Managing Partner Ed Tan said the firm plans to deploy its lower-leverage investment model to support TXG's expansion into additional geographies and service lines while increasing operating capacity, with opportunities for acquisitions to complement organic growth. Tan called TXG "an exceptional reputation in aviation MRO through over a decade of consistent, high-quality execution for some of the industry's most demanding cargo and commercial operators." Heartwood Managing Director James Jang described TXG as a "founder-led, operationally excellent business" with a "differentiated platform in a large and growing MRO market." Cock said the investment will give TXG additional resources to increase capacity, broaden its service portfolio and enter new geographic markets while maintaining existing customer relationships and operating standards.
Heartwood manages more than $1.4 billion in investments and commitments as of December 31, 2025, and its principals have participated in more than 100 platform and add-on acquisitions. The firm is currently investing through Heartwood Partners IV, LP.
