Rider Jet Center Adds Limousine Operator and FAA Medical Examiners as New Tenants at Hagerstown FBO

Why It MattersFBOs increasingly diversify revenue by leasing office space to aviation-adjacent service providers, turning terminal buildings into hubs for ground transport and pilot medical services alongside fuel and maintenance.

What happened

Rider Jet Center, a full-service Fixed Base Operator at Hagerstown Regional Airport, has announced two new tenants in its 22,000-square-foot office building. On The Town Limousines, Inc., a luxury transportation company serving Maryland, Northern Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C., has opened an office at the facility, offering corporate and charter clients access to a fleet of vehicles with professional chauffeurs.

The second new tenant is a medical practice led by Dr. Weinberg and Dr. Roberta Rothen, both FAA Designated Senior Aviation Medical Examiners. The physicians perform required pilot medical examinations and issue all classes of FAA medical certificates to pilots and air traffic controllers. Both tenants occupy upstairs offices in the Rider Jet Center building.

"On the Town Limousines and Doctors Weinberg and Rothen bring added value to Rider Jet Center. Both of these entities provide services for the aviation industry," said President and CEO Ben Rider. In addition to its office tenants, Rider Jet Center is home to the Grille at Runways restaurant, an aviation repair station, and multiple flight operation offices. The FBO was named 2025 Tops in Service for all Fixed Base Operators by Aerospace and Defense Review, and in 2026 received Washington County's "At Your Service" Award for best in service among local companies.

Industry impact & what to watch

This addition reflects a broader pattern of FBOs using spare office space to host businesses that serve the same pilots, passengers and crews already passing through the facility, rather than limiting themselves to fuel, hangar and ramp services. A limousine operator and aviation medical examiners both depend on proximity to pilots and traveling executives, making an FBO's office building a natural location for them to set up.

For the FBO segment, this kind of tenant mix adds a steady stream of office rental income and strengthens the facility's role as a one-stop location for operators, pilots and passengers, complementing existing amenities like the on-site restaurant and repair station. Whether other FBOs pursue similar tenant diversification, and whether Rider Jet Center adds further aviation-adjacent tenants to the building, remains to be seen.
