Why It MattersThe award shows foreign carriers in Nigeria weighing a handler's nationwide footprint and certification record, which favours providers able to offer consistent standards across several airports.
SAHCO has signed an agreement to provide ground handling services to Air Algérie at the airports in Lagos and Abuja. Under the contract, SAHCO will use its trained personnel, ground support equipment and operational expertise to support safe and efficient airline operations. The company said the deal reflects the confidence international airlines place in its ability to deliver reliable services that meet global aviation standards.

SAHCO Chairman Barrister Taiwo Afolabi said the company was delighted that Air Algérie had chosen SAHCO as its ground handling partner in Lagos and Abuja, adding that the decision reflects SAHCO's commitment to safety, operational efficiency and service excellence.
SAHCO said it is the only ground handling provider with a presence at all commercially operated airports in Nigeria, and that this nationwide coverage helps it serve airlines at multiple locations with consistent standards and attract more international carriers. The company said it has invested in modern ground support equipment, technology and employee training, and that its equipment strategy includes alternative power sources and environmentally conscious solutions. It listed several certifications and standards credentials, including the IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO), RA3, ISO 900, SON and ISO 27001, and said it will continue to invest in equipment, technology and workforce development.
