Jet2 Launches First Business Class-Configured Boeing 737-800NG for Charter Customers

Why It MattersA leisure-airline charter arm configuring a dedicated business class cabin shows premium group travel for sports, music and entertainment clients being served by scheduled-carrier fleets rather than only by traditional charter specialists.

Jet2's charter team has launched its first aircraft configured in a dedicated business class layout. The specially configured Boeing 737-800NG has flown its first charter customers and is available for further charter bookings throughout the winter season. It is the first time Jet2 has configured an aircraft to a business class specification.

The aircraft is normally configured with 189 seats. In its new layout it offers 76 business class seats with a minimum of 43 inches of legroom throughout, along with more personal space and a higher level of exclusivity. Customers also receive upgraded catering tailored to their requirements and delivered by Jet2.

The premium product was introduced in response to demand from customers including sports, music, entertainment and specialist groups seeking privacy, comfort, flexibility and an elevated travel experience. The charter team reported "exceptional" early feedback, with customers praising the premium feel, comfort, personal space and exclusive onboard environment.

The aircraft is based at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, and customers are supported by Jet2's charter team and its dedicated 24/7 operational team. Trevor Caplis, Head of Charter & Airline Sales at Jet2, called the development "incredibly exciting" for charter customers and said the cabin, together with Jet2's customer service, looks set to be popular with charter clients this winter. Booking enquiries can be sent to jet2charters@jet2.com.
