Gulfstream Targets 200 Annual Deliveries in 2030 as G300 Set to Replace G280

Why It MattersA 200-aircraft target tied to a mid-cabin model changeover shows how manufacturers carry output through transitions: the gap between G280 sell-down and G300 certification is bridged by shifting volume to larger aircraft.

What happened

Gulfstream Aerospace is aiming for 200 business jet deliveries in 2030, General Dynamics President Danny Deep said on the company's Oct. 30 earnings call. "Our intent is to deliver 200 aircraft in 2030," Deep said, adding that reaching that figure will require producing more than 200 aircraft in 2029.

Deep said Gulfstream already has the facilities and workforce to support the planned increase, although supplier capacity remains a consideration. In the third quarter Gulfstream delivered 40 aircraft, against 39 in the same period last year; those comprised 35 large-cabin aircraft and five mid-cabin jets.

The G300, a super-midsize aircraft, is expected to receive certification toward the end of 2027, Deep confirmed. Gulfstream expects to complete G280 deliveries around the middle of 2027, several months ahead of that certification, and plans to offset the reduction in G280 deliveries by increasing deliveries of larger aircraft. The timing of initial G300 deliveries will depend partly on developments in the Middle East, where the aircraft is manufactured.

The G300 was unveiled in September 2025 and made its first flight that December. It carries Gulfstream's Harmony Flight Deck, seats up to 10 passengers and has a projected range of 3,600 nautical miles at Mach 0.80. The certification program is continuing as the company prepares to phase out the G280.

Industry impact & what to watch

Gulfstream's plan shows how a manufacturer with a single mid-cabin entry point handles a model changeover: the G280 line winds down roughly mid-2027, the G300 arrives only after certification late that year, and the intervening volume is carried by large-cabin production. For buyers and brokers in the mid-size segment, that implies a period in which new Gulfstream mid-cabin supply is tied to the remaining G280 slots and the G300 delivery schedule.

The 200-aircraft goal also puts weight on the supply chain. Deep named supplier capacity as a consideration, and a production rate above 200 in 2029 depends on that capacity keeping pace with a larger-cabin-heavy mix. The ramp therefore turns less on Gulfstream's own factory floor than on how reliably its suppliers can scale.

The next milestones are the G280 delivery wind-down around the middle of 2027 and G300 certification toward the end of that year. Initial G300 delivery timing is the item still open, since Deep tied it partly to developments in the Middle East.
