Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) has announced a construction project to extend its main runway by 328 feet and install a new navigational aid system intended to improve aircraft operational safety, particularly in adverse weather conditions. The work will require temporary, periodic closures of the main runway beginning at 3:00 p.m., though General Aviation runways will not be affected.
The construction window was chosen to avoid peak travel seasons, balancing minimal flight disruption with favorable conditions for the work. Of roughly 22 scheduled departures, four flights have been rescheduled to depart before 3:00 p.m., with airline partners coordinating those adjustments with the airport well in advance. The airport terminal will remain open and fully operational throughout the project.
