Harald Gloy Named CEO of Lufthansa Technik AG, Effective February 2027

Lufthansa Technik AG's supervisory board has appointed Harald Gloy as the company's new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 February 2027, for a five-year term. Gloy, 54, will succeed Soeren Stark, 59, who will retire on that date after serving as chairman of the executive board since 2022.

Gloy has been a member of Lufthansa Technik's executive board since 2022, serving as Chief Operating Officer and Accountable Manager, with responsibility for all operational processes and IT. A successor to fill his COO role is expected to be announced soon. Grazia Vittadini, chairwoman of the supervisory board, said Gloy combines deep knowledge of Lufthansa Technik with broad leadership experience across the Lufthansa Group, and has played an important role in the company's strong performance while knowing its customers, employees and the global MRO market exceptionally well.

Gloy studied at the Technical University of Berlin and Arizona State University, beginning his career in 1999 at Lufthansa Technik Logistics in materials management before joining Lufthansa Technik AG's corporate development and strategy team in 2003. He went on to lead aircraft overhaul and modifications for widebody aircraft in Hamburg from 2006 to 2010, then headed Component Overhauls, moved to Engine Services in 2012, and later became a Business Division Manager.

Stark, who studied logistics and material flow engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Paris, joined the Lufthansa Group in 2001 as plant manager of LSG Sky Chefs at Frankfurt Airport, developed Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services as its managing director from 2004, joined Lufthansa Cargo's executive board as COO in 2016, and became chairman of Lufthansa Technik's executive board in 2022. Vittadini noted that Stark would continue to lead the company until Gloy assumes office.
