Adani Defence and Aerospace to Firm Up Narrow-Body Engine MRO Plans Within 18 Months
Why It MattersA large Indian conglomerate moving into narrow-body engine overhaul points to domestic MRO capacity being built to serve the country's expanding airline fleet rather than relying on overseas shops.
Adani Defence and Aerospace expects to finalise plans within the next 18 months for a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility for engines powering narrow-body commercial aircraft, CEO Ashish Rajvanshi said on Tuesday. Once the MRO is established, a Final Assembly Line (FAL) for the engines could also be considered, he said.

Rajvanshi spoke at the Aviation India and South Asia 2026 conference in New Delhi. India is one of the world's fastest-growing civil aviation markets, and its commercial aircraft fleet is projected to triple to 2,250 over the next decade.
