RentJet Records 1,025 Empty Leg Offers in October 2026; Median Offer Online 23 Hours

Why It MattersEmpty-leg inventory is a perishable product that clears within a day or two, and the Paris–London corridor shows how pricing and visibility differ route by route within a single month's feed.

What happened

RentJet, a private jet booking platform, recorded 1,025 empty leg offers on 737 routes in October 2026, its first full month of tracking. Empty legs are one-way repositioning flights that operators sell below the normal charter price. The figures count offers, not passengers, and RentJet does not know how many people flew.

RentJet Records 1,025 Empty Leg Offers in October 2026; Median Offer Online 23 Hours

The median asking price was €8,470 for a whole aircraft and €540 per seat. Of the total, 596 offers (58%) could be bought by the seat, while 429 (42%) were available only as a whole aircraft.

The median offer stayed online for 23 hours, and 54% of the offers that had left the feed by 1 November were gone within 24 hours. An offer leaving the feed can mean it was booked, withdrawn or past its departure time, so this is not a booking rate. The median booking window was three days: when an offer first appeared, the flight was typically three days away.

The most frequent route was Paris to London with 12 offers, followed by Amsterdam to Paris (7), London to Paris (6), Cannes to Paris (5) and Paris to Nice (5). Cannes to Paris and Paris to Nice ranked fourth and fifth because they ran on more distinct flight dates. Paris to London offers left the feed after a median of 19 hours, compared with 45 hours for London to Paris, and Amsterdam to Paris was the fastest of the top five at a median of 14 hours online. Paris was the most common departure city (86 offers) and the second most common arrival (68) behind London (72).

Industry impact & what to watch

An empty leg is a repositioning flight whose value drops as departure approaches, so operators have little reason to leave it unsold. A three-day median booking window and a 23-hour median time online fit that logic: inventory appears close to the flight and disappears quickly, whatever the reason for its disappearance.

The route gap is the more useful signal. Paris to London offers cleared the feed after a median of 19 hours while London to Paris stayed for 45, even though the two are the same city pair flown in opposite directions. Direction, not distance, appears to shape how long a leg stays visible, which is consistent with demand and repositioning needs being uneven across a corridor.

The seat-by-seat share is a separate feature of the product. With 58% of offers sellable per seat at a median of €540, a large part of the feed is not restricted to whole-aircraft buyers. How far that holds across months is unknown from a single month of data, and rank differences among the lower-volume routes can move with a handful of offers.

A second month of tracking would show whether the 23-hour median and the Paris-centred route pattern persist or were specific to October.
