Chorus Aviation Completes Acquisition of SkyCare Air Ambulance
Why It MattersThe deal shows a regional-airline holding company widening into air ambulance services, where medevac, repatriation and organ transport sit alongside charter in a single operator's portfolio.
What happened
Chorus Aviation Inc. (TSX: CHR) has completed its acquisition of SkyCare Air Ambulance. The deal was announced on October 19, 2026 and closed on November 1, 2026.

SkyCare is a fixed-wing air ambulance operator. It provides 24/7 medevac, repatriation, organ transport and charter services across Canada and the United States.
Chorus is a holding company. Its principal operating subsidiaries are Jazz Aviation, the primary provider of regional air services under the Air Canada Express brand; Voyageur Aviation, a provider of specialty charter, aircraft modifications, parts provisioning and in-service support; KADEX Aero Supply, an OEM aircraft parts distributor and provider of repair and overhaul services; Cygnet Aviation Academy, an accredited academy preparing pilots for direct entry into airlines; and Elisen & Associates, a provider of aerospace engineering and certification services.
Industry impact & what to watch
Air ambulance work is a distinct line from scheduled regional flying. It runs around the clock, depends on dedicated aircraft and crews, and mixes patient transport with repatriation and organ movements. A holding company that already spans scheduled service, specialty charter, parts supply, pilot training and engineering now has a medevac operator added to that group.
For the charter and special-mission segment, the transaction is one more example of a diversified aviation group taking on a specialised fixed-wing operator rather than building that capability in-house. How SkyCare is run alongside Chorus's other units is the question the closing leaves in front of the market, and Chorus's own reporting on the combined business is where that would first show.
