Embraer Expands UAE Presence With 10-Aircraft C-390 Sale and Series of Partnerships
Why It MattersA single-country order of this scale for a multirole military transport shows how Gulf air forces can anchor a new regional footprint for a manufacturer, tying aircraft sales to local partnership structures.
What happened
Embraer President and CEO Francisco Gomes Neto told ANBA on Thursday (5) that the Brazilian planemaker is expanding its presence in the United Arab Emirates through a series of partnerships and a major sale.

This year, Embraer signed a contract to supply 10 C-390 Millennium aircraft to the UAE Air Force, with an option for 10 more. Gomes Neto described it as the largest export deal for the aircraft in Brazil.
Embraer's own statements called the contract a "historic agreement", the largest international order for the multirole aircraft placed by a single country and the aircraft's entry into the Middle East.
Industry impact & what to watch
Export orders for military transports are rarely just aircraft sales. A buyer of this size typically draws a manufacturer into a wider relationship with the country, and the partnerships Gomes Neto described alongside the contract point in that direction, with the UAE serving as Embraer's entry into the Middle East for the C-390.
The structure of the deal matters as much as its headline count. A firm order for 10 aircraft with an option for 10 more leaves the larger figure dependent on a later decision by the customer, so the option, not the base order, is where the deal's full weight sits.
The next milestone worth tracking is whether the option for 10 additional aircraft is exercised, since that would double the UAE fleet and settle how large this regional foothold becomes.
