What happened
Sheltair Aviation has divested its fixed-base operation at Gwinnett County Airport (KLZU/LZU), transferring operations to Aircraft Specialists FBO. Sheltair first established operations at KLZU in April 2023 and operated the FBO for approximately three years before the transfer.
Lisa Holland, President and CEO of Sheltair, said the company worked closely with Aircraft Specialists FBO to ensure a seamless transition for tenants, customers, and staff. Several Sheltair employees at KLZU have accepted new roles with Aircraft Specialists, while others have relocated to other Sheltair locations.
Sheltair said it will focus on strategic growth across its existing network, including construction projects at KTPA, KORL, and KPIE, all expected to be completed in 2026. Additional new projects are planned for 2027 at FLL, MLB, SRQ, and SAV.
