Wheels Up Experience (NYSE: UP) Reshapes Fleet, Membership and Charter Operations

Wheels Up Experience (NYSE: UP) has restructured its fleet, membership programmes and technology platform. The company's controlled jet fleet has been modernised around Bombardier Challenger and Embraer Phenom aircraft, with legacy jets and King Air turboprops retired from revenue service and turboprop demand now covered by external, safety-vetted charter operators. The controlled fleet has also been fitted with streaming-capable satellite Wi-Fi, updated interiors and branded liveries.

On membership, legacy programmes were discontinued for new and existing customers, with the Signature Membership programme becoming the central commercial offering. Signature Membership surpassed one thousand members at mid-year, accounting for more than half of the active member base, while Custom Enterprise Solutions were introduced for corporate customers. A unified commercial model now brings private aviation membership, charter services and hybrid private-commercial travel under a single customer-engagement structure, alongside the company's continuing relationship with Delta Air Lines linking private and premium commercial travel for hybrid itineraries.

On technology, Wheels Up announced plans for an artificial intelligence-based enterprise brokerage platform to replace multiple legacy systems and support charter booking. Recent quarterly results showed revenue broadly stable year over year after accounting for discontinued programmes, with a flight completion rate above 90% and an on-time performance metric based on arrivals within 30 minutes of scheduled times. The latest quarterly filing reported negative stockholders' equity, and the company was added to the Russell 2000 and Russell 3000 indexes during the most recent annual index reconstitution.
