Jeppesen ForeFlight Adds Paperless Cockpit, Privacy ICAO Address and New AI Agents to Airflow Platform

Why It MattersBusiness aviation flight departments are being pushed toward airline-style connected operations, where crew documents, trip planning and safety reporting sit in one system instead of separate tools.

What happened

Jeppesen ForeFlight has introduced its largest set of new business aviation capabilities on Airflow, its agentic artificial intelligence operating platform. The release spans safety management, flight tracking, paperless cockpit, runway performance, fuel and aircraft privacy, along with new agents.

The largest group of releases moves flight crews closer to a paperless operation, in which the record of the flight is created in the cockpit and not reconstructed afterward, Jeppesen says. Electronic Signatures let pilots sign and release required flight documents on their devices, with the signature traveling with the record instead of on a separate sheet. With Cockpit Sharing, both crew members work from the same flight on their own devices, and changes are reflected on both sides.

Support for Privacy ICAO Address allows eligible operators to file with an alternate, temporary ICAO address so the aircraft is not easily traceable to its owner through public flight tracking. Two new Airflow software agents, Trip Feasibility and Ops Briefing, are now integrated into ForeFlight Dispatch to help operators make more informed decisions with less manual work.

Jeppesen ForeFlight CEO Brad Surak said: "Business aviation operators are expected to run like airlines, often with a fraction of the staff. To do that effectively, their tools need to work together. We're bringing the entire operation into one connected ecosystem, from the initial trip request through the final safety report."

Industry impact & what to watch

The release shows where flight-department software is heading: a single connected record that starts at the trip request and ends at the safety report. Smaller business aviation teams, which Surak describes as running with a fraction of airline staffing, have the most to gain from tools that share data between dispatch, crew and safety functions.

Privacy ICAO Address support addresses a different pressure. Public flight tracking makes owner-linked aircraft easy to follow, and a temporary alternate address is one way eligible operators can limit that visibility. Which operators qualify as eligible is the detail that will decide how widely the option is used.

The practical test for the new agents is whether Trip Feasibility and Ops Briefing reduce manual work inside ForeFlight Dispatch in daily use. Operator feedback on that point, and on how crews take to Electronic Signatures and Cockpit Sharing, will show whether the paperless-cockpit claim holds up in routine flying.
