Embraer delivers 66 aircraft in Q3 2026, commercial jets up 10% year-on-year
Why It MattersSteady business-jet output alongside rising commercial deliveries shows how production leveling lets an OEM smooth year-end delivery spikes while still growing its airliner segment.
What happened
Embraer delivered 66 aircraft across its three business units in the third quarter of 2026, up 6% from 62 in the same period of 2025, the Brazilian manufacturer reported on Friday. Commercial Aviation accounted for 22 of those deliveries — 11 E175s, four E190-E2s and seven E195-E2s — a 10% increase from both the 20 commercial jets delivered in Q2 2026 and the 20 delivered in Q3 2025. Embraer handed over 15 commercial jets in Q3 2023 and 16 in Q3 2024. Recipients of Q3 2026 commercial deliveries include American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Mexicana, Virgin Australia, Azul, Airlink and Porter Airlines, according to aircraft fleet records.

The delivery mix shifted compared with a year earlier: in Q3 2025, Embraer delivered seven E175s and 13 E2-family aircraft, while in Q3 2026 E175 deliveries rose to 11 and combined E190-E2 and E195-E2 deliveries fell to 11. Executive Aviation delivered 41 business jets during the quarter, unchanged from both Q3 2025 and Q3 2024. Year-to-date, Executive Aviation has delivered 115 aircraft through the first nine months of 2026, compared with 102 in the same period of 2025, a 13% increase.
Defense & Security contributed three aircraft to the quarterly total: one C-390 Millennium military transport and two A-29 Super Tucano light attack and training aircraft. The C-390 was the first aircraft delivered to Uzbekistan, making that country the type's first operator in Central Asia. The two A-29s are associated with Paraguay's six-aircraft order, whose final deliveries were scheduled for the third quarter. Excluding Defense & Security, Commercial and Executive Aviation deliveries rose from 61 to 63 aircraft, an increase of approximately 3%. Through the first nine months of 2026, Embraer delivered 52 commercial aircraft, up 13% from 46 in the same period of 2025. The company maintained its full-year guidance of 80 to 85 commercial aircraft and 160 to 170 executive jets.
Production leveling and quarterly pacing
The stable quarterly figure for Executive Aviation reflects Embraer's production leveling program, which is designed to reduce the traditional concentration of business jet deliveries at year-end. Holding 41 business jets flat across Q3 2025, Q3 2024 and Q3 2026 while the year-to-date total still climbs from 102 to 115 aircraft shows deliveries being pulled forward into earlier quarters rather than clustered in Q4.
To meet full-year guidance, Commercial Aviation must deliver between 28 and 33 aircraft in Q4 2026, while Executive Aviation requires between 45 and 55 business jets in the final quarter.
Industry impact & what to watch
A multi-year climb in commercial quarterly deliveries — 15 in Q3 2023, 16 in Q3 2024, 20 in Q3 2025 and 22 in Q3 2026 — points to a manufacturer absorbing airline demand at a steadily rising rate rather than through a single large jump, which matters for carriers like American Airlines and Alaska Airlines planning fleet timing around E-Jet slots.
The shift within the commercial mix, with E175 deliveries up to 11 from seven a year earlier and E2-family deliveries down to 11 from 13, shows how regional-jet programs can rebalance between variants quarter to quarter without changing the total unit count much. That kind of mix swing is a normal feature of how narrowbody and regional production lines sequence customer orders against capacity constraints.
What remains to be confirmed is whether Embraer closes the year within its stated ranges: hitting 80 to 85 commercial aircraft and 160 to 170 executive jets depends on the Q4 deliveries of 28 to 33 commercial units and 45 to 55 business jets actually landing in that quarter, figures that will show whether the leveling program has genuinely flattened the year-end rush or merely shifted where the peak falls.
