Lufthansa Technik and Emirates Extend A380 Base Maintenance Contract Through 2030

Lufthansa Technik and Emirates have extended a base maintenance services contract covering Emirates' Airbus A380 fleet in Asia, the two organizations announced on September 2, 2026. Under the extended agreement, Lufthansa Technik Philippines will continue to perform heavy checks on Emirates' A380 aircraft through 2030, using two dedicated base maintenance lines at its Manila facility. Lufthansa Technik has supported Emirates' A380 heavy maintenance since 2023 and has completed more than 30 A380 checks for the airline to date.
Emirates, described as the world's largest A380 operator, will also become the launch customer for Lufthansa Technik Philippines' new facility at Clark International Airport once operations begin there, a site that will additionally support Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 aircraft. Lufthansa Technik described the new agreement as one of the largest by value in the history of its Philippines facility. Kai Roepke, Vice President Corporate Sales Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Lufthansa Technik, said the agreement reflects the success of the partnership and the quality delivered by its teams.
