Bombardier Appoints Jeanne Boillet to Board of Directors, Effective October 1, 2026
Why It MattersBusiness aviation manufacturers are increasingly adding directors with audit, technology and governance backgrounds as boards face growing pressure to oversee financial controls and digital transformation alongside traditional aerospace expertise.
What happened
Bombardier has appointed Jeanne Boillet to its Board of Directors, effective October 1, 2026. Boillet recently retired from EY after a career spanning France and Switzerland, where she served as Lead Audit Partner for major companies listed on the CAC 40 and the Swiss Market Index.

At EY, Boillet held leadership roles at the national, regional and global levels. She was a member of EY's Global Assurance Executive Leadership Team and Global Account Committee, and from 2015 to 2020 she led EY Global Assurance's innovation agenda, advancing analytics, artificial intelligence and blockchain adoption and overseeing AI integration into the firm's audit platforms. Most recently, she led EY's global community of audit partners serving the firm's 35 largest audit clients worldwide.
Pierre Beaudoin, Chairman of the Board of Bombardier, said Boillet "brings exceptional experience in governance, technology-enabled transformation and stakeholder engagement, gained through decades of advising leading global organizations," adding that her perspective "will be invaluable as Bombardier continues to execute its strategy and build on its leadership position in business aviation." Boillet is a Certified Public Accountant in both France and Switzerland and holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance from ESSEC Business School, and has authored numerous articles on the future of audit, emerging technologies and corporate governance. "I am honored and delighted to join Bombardier's Board of Directors at such an exciting time in the company's evolution," Boillet said, adding she looks forward to "working alongside my fellow directors and the management team to support Bombardier's continued growth, innovation and long-term value creation."
Bombardier customers operate a fleet of more than 5,200 aircraft, supported by service facilities across six countries, with aircraft manufactured at facilities in Canada, the United States and Mexico.
Industry impact & what to watch
Board appointments at aircraft manufacturers increasingly draw from audit and professional-services backgrounds rather than solely from aerospace or finance executive ranks, reflecting how governance expectations around financial controls, technology adoption and stakeholder reporting have broadened. Boillet's background in leading audit relationships for a firm's largest global clients, and in driving analytics and AI integration into an assurance practice, signals a board seeking oversight capacity for digital transformation alongside traditional manufacturing and program risk.
How this plays out for Bombardier depends on the committees Boillet joins and the specific mandates she is given once her term begins on October 1, 2026. Her CPA credentials in two jurisdictions and her CAC 40 and SMI audit experience point toward likely involvement in audit or risk oversight, though that assignment has not been announced. Whether her innovation-agenda background translates into a visible role shaping Bombardier's technology strategy, or remains confined to governance oversight, is the detail worth watching as the board finalizes committee structures around her arrival.
