SES Completes O3b mPOWER Constellation with Launch of Final Three Satellites on SpaceX Falcon 9

SES has completed its second-generation medium Earth orbit constellation with the launch of its eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth O3b mPOWER satellites, which lifted off at 2:49 pm local time aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The three new satellites will join the 10 O3b mPOWER spacecraft already in operation, and are expected to become operational by mid-2027, expanding high-performance connectivity capacity for enterprise, government, mobility and telecom customers in remote and underserved environments while adding resiliency and flexibility across the system.

SES CEO Adel Al-Saleh called the launch "a defining milestone" that strengthens the company's MEO capabilities and its ability to deliver resilient, secure and scalable connectivity worldwide. The full O3b mPOWER system can deliver capacity ranging from tens of Mbps to multiple gigabits per second to any site.
