JetZero Closes $100 Million Financing Facility to Advance Blended-Wing-Body Z4 Aircraft and Jet1 Demonstrator
Why It MattersThe financing signals growing investor confidence in blended-wing-body designs as a viable path to cutting fuel burn in the middle-market commercial aircraft segment.
JetZero has closed a senior secured term loan facility of up to $100 million to accelerate development of its Z4 blended-wing-body aircraft and its full-scale demonstrator, Jet1. The lender group includes Pinegrove Credit Partners, backed by Brookfield and HRTG Partners, alongside Silicon Valley Bank, a division of First-Citizens Bank. Proceeds will fund tooling and production facilities, technology maturation, manufacturing of the Jet1 demonstrator, and buildout of JetZero's U.S. manufacturing and test facilities in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The Z4 is designed for the middle market, targeting approximately 250-passenger capacity and a range of up to 5,000 nautical miles, with fuel burn and emissions projected to fall by up to 50% compared with conventional tube-and-wing aircraft of equivalent capacity. Entry into service is expected in the early 2030s. Jet1, the demonstrator, is being built with Scaled Composites in Mojave, California, and as of June 2026 was 40% complete, with first flight scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027.
Also in June 2026, JetZero broke ground on Factory1, its Z4 production facility in North Carolina, where it plans to hire more than 14,000 people over 10 years to support the aircraft program.
