Flight Pro International's Rick Snider Elected Vice Chair of NBAA Security Council

Why It MattersSecurity-council leadership roles tend to be filled by people working daily in contracts, customs and compliance, which shows how cross-border and regulatory work shapes business aviation's industry-level security agenda.

What happened

Rick Snider, director of contracts and compliance at Flight Pro International (FPI), has been elected vice chair of the NBAA Security Council. The appointment was confirmed at the council's meeting ahead of NBAA-BACE 2026 in Las Vegas.

Snider is a former C-130 navigator in the US Marine Corps and also holds a dispatch license. In 2025 he hosted a monthly "Coffee with Customs" webinar series with the US Customs and Border Protection team.

His team also runs an ongoing compliance webinar series, Connecting the Dots, which is available free to the public.

Industry impact & what to watch

Snider's profile combines military navigation, dispatch licensing and day-to-day contract and compliance work. A vice-chair seat on an industry security body typically goes to someone who can connect operational practice with regulatory requirements, and his customs-facing webinar work is an example of that link.

The free, public availability of the Connecting the Dots series also reflects how compliance knowledge circulates across the business-aviation community, not only among a single company's customers. Customs and border procedures are a recurring friction point for operators flying internationally, so direct dialogue with CBP in a recurring format serves a practical function.

As a vice chair, Snider is positioned within the council's leadership structure ahead of NBAA-BACE 2026, where the council's meeting took place.
