Embraer Delivers 2,000th E-Jet, an E195-E2, to Brazil's Azul Airlines

Embraer marked the delivery of its 2,000th E-Jet on September 2, handing over an E195-E2 to Azul Linhas Aéreas, Brazil's largest airline by number of destinations served. The aircraft simultaneously became Azul's 50th E2 in its fleet.
Since entering service in 2004, E-Jets have been flown by more than 90 airlines across over 60 countries, accumulating approximately 48 million flight hours and carrying more than 2.85 billion passengers. Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, called the delivery "an extraordinary milestone for Embraer and for the global aviation transport industry."
Azul has operated more than 140 E-Jets since launching operations on December 15, 2008, when its first flight used an E190 registered PR-AZL. The airline was also the launch customer for the E195-E2, taking delivery of its first example in 2019. Azul CEO John Rodgerson said the milestone "represents not only a major achievement for Embraer, but also the strength of a partnership that has helped transform regional aviation" across Brazil. The E-Jets family spans the first-generation E170, E175, E190 and E195, plus the second-generation E190-E2 and E195-E2.
