Joby is a California-based company developing an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft designed to carry passengers on short urban and regional trips with zero operating emissions. The company completed a series of piloted electric air taxi demonstration flights across the San Francisco Bay Area in March 2026, including a flight past the Golden Gate Bridge, and is in the fifth and final stage of the Federal Aviation Administration's type certification process.

On Thursday, November 5, the simulator will be reserved exclusively for veterans, with sessions starting at 9:30 a.m. On Friday, November 6, programming for local leaders, student leaders, robotics teams and educational partners will cover aviation, engineering and emerging technologies; hours and participation details will be shared directly with invitees. On Saturday, November 7, the simulator will be open to parade guests and the general public from 10:30 a.m., after the Veterans Parade begins at 9:30 a.m. Additional family-friendly activities are planned.

Participants must be at least 12 years old. Saturday sessions last 15 minutes, with a registration link to be posted closer to the event date. Participants should arrive five minutes before their scheduled session, and each session can accommodate up to five people with one active pilot.

Brentwood Mayor Susannah Meyer said the simulator offers residents, students and families an introduction to emerging technology and a special experience for veterans and the military community. Brentwood, in eastern Contra Costa County, has more than 67,000 residents.
