The SAF Global Summit 2026 will take place on 22 and 23 September at the QEII Centre in London, bringing together airlines, governments, fuel producers, airports, investors and technology companies to address the scaling of sustainable aviation fuel. The United Kingdom and Canada are among the countries participating.
Organisers expect more than 1,000 attendees and over 150 speakers, including senior decision-makers from aviation, energy, government and finance. The two-day programme covers policy, investment, production, supply chains and infrastructure, including a dedicated session on bridging the "last-mile to wing-tip" challenge of getting SAF from production to aircraft. A SAF Market & Trade Forum will cover investment structures, demand signals and trading mechanisms, reflecting a shift toward treating SAF as a strategic commodity rather than solely an environmental product.
Discussions are expected to address policy frameworks including the ReFuelEU Aviation regulation, the UK SAF Mandate and US policy incentives, along with how long-term offtake agreements between airlines and producers can underpin investment decisions and how commercial-scale SAF facilities can reach final investment decisions. SAF can be produced from renewable and waste-based feedstocks and blended with conventional jet fuel for use in existing aircraft, though high production costs and supply chain complexity remain significant barriers to large-scale adoption.
