ACI Jet Appoints Adam Barron Vice President of Aircraft Maintenance

Why It MattersThe appointment shows operators that run both a Part 135 fleet and a Part 145 repair station treating maintenance integration, standardized safety procedures and billing as one executive-level responsibility.

What happened

ACI Jet has named Adam Barron as its Vice President of Aircraft Maintenance. In the executive role, Barron will direct all maintenance operations across the company's Flight Operations and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) business units.

Barron has served as ACI Jet's Director of Maintenance since 2021. In that post he built and managed the Part 135 flight operations maintenance department for a fleet of 17 aircraft, including Bombardier Global series, Challenger 300 and 600 series, Cessna Citations, Phenom 300 and Gulfstream IV jets. His background spans military defense and corporate aviation. He holds a B.S. in Aviation Maintenance from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and an A.A.S. from the Community College of the Air Force, and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Aviation.

ACI Jet operates an MRO facility that is a Bombardier Authorized Service Facility, supported by a parts depot and a technician talent pipeline in San Luis Obispo, California.

As Vice President, Barron will lead the strategic integration of the flight operations maintenance team and the Part 145 MRO division, with aims that include streamlining billing processes and instituting standardized safety procedures. He will also oversee key OEM authorizations and quality audits, including major audit compliance.

"Leaders provide a vision, set an example, and take care of the team so the team can take care of the mission," Barron said. "Our goal is to foster a passionate, accountable, and customer-focused maintenance organization across California, ensuring every aircraft released from our hangars meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance."

Industry impact & what to watch

Companies that fly a charter fleet under Part 135 and also sell repair work through a Part 145 station run two maintenance cultures under one roof. The flight side is judged on aircraft availability for its own schedule, while the repair side answers to outside customers, OEM authorizations and audit results. Placing both under a single vice president is one way an operator addresses that split, and it explains why billing and safety procedures appear among the stated priorities.

For customers of an authorized service facility, standardized procedures and audit compliance are the practical evidence of that integration. OEM authorizations depend on passing audits, so the person who oversees both the audits and the maintenance floor carries part of the facility's commercial standing.

The next point of evidence is whether the integrated structure shows up in the areas Barron's remit names: a single billing process, one set of safety procedures across both units, and continued standing on its OEM authorizations.
