The guidance states that LEMD requires all business jet movements to hold an airport slot, with the filed arrival or off-block time matching that slot exactly, and while no separate Prior Permission Required process applies, ground handling agents and support must be arranged in advance.
Overnight parking will be offered only subject to available capacity, with ramp space expected to be significantly constrained over the race weekend, so operators are advised not to assume overnight positions are guaranteed and instead to plan drop-and-go departures or repositioning to alternate airports. Jet A-1 fuel supply itself is not expected to be short, though fuel truck availability during peak periods could cause delay, and operators are advised to declare fuel requirements ahead of arrival; LEMD maintains 24-hour customs, immigration, fuelling, security and handling capability. The U.S. Embassy in Spain issued an advisory on 10 September 2026 noting that road traffic controls linked to the MADRING event would affect access routes to and from the airport.
No formal slot, parking or handling restrictions have been separately announced by event organiser MADRING or airport operator Aena, with the operational constraints stemming from third-party guidance rather than an official notice; operators are advised to verify arrangements directly with their LEMD ground handling agent and treat AIP, NOTAMs and written airport confirmations as authoritative. Business jet flight-activity records show that at WSSL, over the cumulative period of 29 August to 11 September 2026, there were 168 departures and 176 arrivals, totalling 344 movements, returned only as an aggregate figure that cannot be broken down by day. Brokers pricing charters for the weekend are advised to itemise repositioning costs, additional crew time and ground buffer time as separate line items in their quotations.
