Secret Service Dispatches Deputies to Illinois Airport After Small Plane Enters Restricted Airspace During Trump's Chicago Visit
Why It MattersRepeated airspace incursions near presidential events highlight ongoing risk exposure for general aviation operators flying near temporary flight restrictions during high-profile visits.
McHenry County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Hilbert Airport in unincorporated Marengo, Illinois, on Sunday after the U.S. Secret Service reported that a small civilian aircraft had entered a temporary flight restriction without authorization. The restriction was in effect while President Donald Trump attended the final day of the Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club.

NORAD reported that at least 15 general aviation aircraft violated the restricted Chicago-area airspace that day, and fighter jets intercepted 10 of them. Deputies cleared the aircraft at Hilbert Airport.
